Playing an out of conference game Monday, the South Winn boys basketball team (8-10) fell to Waukon (7-10) 75-87.
"We dug ourselves a big hole in the first half, being down 13 with three minutes to go in the half. We did a great job battling back and had it down to three in the third quarter, but just couldn't get back even to finish the game," said SW Coach Chris Streeter. "Our scoring was very spread out, which is great to see as we gear up for the playoffs."
The Warriors trailed 18-14 after the first quarter. The two teams combined for 48 points in the second quarter. However, the Warriors trailed 36-44. SW outscored Waukon 21-19 in the third but couldn't pull even.
The Warriors were led in scoring by Trevor Schweinefus with 21. Jordan Rommes had 14, with Adam Lensing adding 12 and Garrett Bohach 11. Other stats weren't available as of press time.
