It was a tough battle for the South Winn boys basketball team (3-5, 3-3 UIC) as it hosted 2012-state qualifier MFL Friday night.
In the end, the Bulldogs were too much for the Warriors, winning 76-64.
South Winn held its own in the first quarter, trailing just 22-18. However in the second frame, the offense managed just eight points, trailing at the half 42-26. The Warriors were outscored again in the third, 21-14 as the lead ballooned to 23.
Adam Lensing and Trevor Schweinefus led the team offensively. Lensing had 22 points, six rebounds and three blocks. Schweinefus had 18 points, six boards and two steals. Jordan Rommes added seven points and five rebounds. Andre Walz came off the bench to add six points.
