The South Winn softball team (11-18 8-10 UIC) finished the conference season Monday on the road.



Two for the Hawks

Monday the Warriors traveled to North Fayette to take on the Hawks. In the first game it was all North Fayette as the home team got the 10-0 win in five innings.

The Warriors had just three hits, singles by Katelyn Elsbernd, Morgan Kuennen and Leah Elsbernd.

Bayley Monroe took the loss. She gave up seven earned runs on 11 hits.

The second game was a 9-3 win for North Fayette. South Winn took a 2-0 lead after the top of the first; however, the Hawks got one run back in the bottom half of the inning. Things fell apart for South Winn in the third as the Hawks scored five runs.

South Winn had five hits. Jenn Panos had a solo home run. Becca Franzen, Abby Hageman, Courtney Humpal and Kendal Kuboushek had the other hits.

Brittany Shindelar went all six innings, giving up four earned runs on 12 hits.
