It was a split in two tries for the South Winn girls basketball team (13-7, 12-3 UIC) as the Warriors defeated Valley and lost to first-place Sumner-Fred.
In a make-up game, the Warriors went on the road to defeat Valley 45-32. The Warrior defense held the Tigers to single-digit point efforts in the first three quarters to get the victory. South Win took a 23-17 halftime lead and held the Tigers to just three points in the third quarter to get the win.
Two Warriors were in double digits scoring. Jessica Lensing had 13 points, along with three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Payton Poshusta had 10 points. Kennidee DeVilbiss posted eight points while Brittany Shindelar had six rebounds.
