A strong defensive effort by the Warriors gave the South Winn boys basketball team (6-4, 5-1 UIC) a 76-31 victory at home against Edgewood-Colesburg (0-10, 0-6 UIC).

Satuday's make-up game with North Fayette Valley was postponed.

The Warriors' defense gave up just 18 points in the first half Friday and 13 in the second to secure the win.

In the first quarter, the Warrior offense lit up the scoreboard, scoring 25 points to lead 25-7. It was more evenly-matched in the second frame, with South Winn outscoring the Vikings 19-11 to lead 44-18. They added 24 in the third quarter.
