The South Winn wrestling team was challenge by two new teams Tuesday night, battling North Butler and Nashua-Plainfield.

The Warriors fell to both. They lost to North Butler 33-47 and Nashua-Plainfield 33-45.

Landers Kuboushek, Chris Brincks and Ethan Kipp won both their matches.

Ranked No. 8 in Class 1A at 182 pounds, Kuboushek pinned Dalton Aukes of North Butler in 1:48 and then pinned Nashua-Plainfield's Zack Bark in 3:46.

Class 1A No. 4 Brincks (195 pounds) defeated Nashua-Plainfield's Tyler Larson by a 7-1 decision. He received a forfeit against North Butler.

Kipp wrestled at 220 pounds against North Butler, pinning James Seehusen in 1:22. He also threw Bryce Bilharz of Nashua-Plainfield in 3:27.

Late last week, the Warriors took to the mats against Sumner-Fred, falling 36-38. Picking up wins were Cody Fisher, Luke Massman, Jacob Ling, Ben Meyer, Class 1A No. 7 Ryan Hageman, Brincks and Kipp.
