Looking to get back on the winning track, the South Winn girls basketball team (11-5, 10-2 UIC) did just that, defeating Upper Iowa Conference opponent North Fayette (10-5, 9-4 UIC), 43-36.

The Warriors fell behind after the first eight minutes, 13-8. The Warrior defense stole the show in the second period as it held the Hawks to just five points. The offense quickly erased the deficit as the Warriors went into the locker room leading 20-18. In the third, the offense continued to hum while the defense did just enough to build the lead to six at 31-25. The Warriors did just enough to maintain the lead in the final eight minutes.
