It's always an exciting night when South Winn and Turkey Valley play each other, and it was no exception Tuesday night in Jackson Junction when the two boys basketball teams met.

In the close contest, South Winn (9-10, 8-6 UIC) eventually pulled away and picked up the win, 60-49, over the Trojans (1-17, 1-14 UIC)

How it happened

South Winn's Trevor Schweinefus started the game with two free throws. After a TV free throw, the Warriors got four points from Adam Lensing to make it 6-1. Justin Hackman responded for the Trojans with a basket. Garrett Bohach answered for South Winn with a three for the 9-3 SW lead. Jacob Hackman hit two free throws for TV before SW added four more points, two by Jordan Rommes and two by Eric Albertson. TV answered with six straight points, two by Ja. Hackman, two by Riley Buchheit and another two from Ja. Hackman, making the score 13-11 SW. SW's Schweinefus nailed a three to extend the lead back to five. Two free throws by Buchheit and two baskets by Schweinefus made it 20-13 SW at the first quarter break.
