For just the fifth time in school history, the Decorah football team won a state title this fall, the first for Head Coach Bill Post.
Oct. 2 - The Class 3A No. 1 Decorah football team is on a roll, having won 10 straight homecoming games and 15 of the last 17 district games. Most recently, the Vikes defeated Vinton-Shellsburg 50-7 to move to 6-0 on the year.
Colton Hageman's five touchdowns help lead the South Winn football team to a 42-29 victory over North Fayette.
A hot Duhawk quarterback was Luther's undoing as the football team fell to Loras 25-28. Luther took a 14-0 lead before the Duhawks put up 21 unanswered points.
Oct. 4 - In the only home meet of the year, the Decorah swim team won eight events on the way to a 121 to 65 victory over Charles City.
Showcasing some of the best runners in Northeast Iowa, the South Winn cross country team hosted the Warrior Invite Tuesday. The South Winn boys won the team title while Decorah claimed the girls title.
Former Decorah and Luther athlete John Jaeger has been named the head baseball coach at Ottumwa High School. A 2001 graduate of DHS, Jaeger finished his career with Luther with the top batting aveage (.384) in the program's history.
Oct. 9 - It wasn't pretty but it was a win for the Class 3A No. 1 Decorah football team as the Vikes defeated Crestwood 35-15 on the road. The win clinches a playoff berth for the Vikes and puts them in sole custody of the No. 1 seed.
The Turkey Valley volleyball team has made it four wins in a row now after defeating Central 3-0. Kalyn Kruse served 20-for-20 with seven digs.
