“The Preview: Artists of the 2019 Northeast Iowa Artists Studio Tour” will be on exhibit Sept. 5 through Oct. 5, at Impact Coffee in downtown Decorah.

A reception, free and open to the public, is Thursday, Sept. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Impact Coffee.

Organized by ArtHaus and sponsored by Cardboard Robot, the exhibit will highlight some of the talent to be found on this Fall’s Northeast Iowa Artists’ Studio Tour, scheduled for Oct. 11, 12 and 13.

Exhibiting artists include Jennifer Jones, Melissa Brown, James Updegraff, Joyce Meyer, Casey McBride, Marcia Cook, Jennifer Nahl, Darla Ellickson, Nate and Hallie Evans, Bonnie Koloc and Rick Scheffert.

The exhibit will be open during business hours at Impact Coffee through Oct. 5.
“This is a unique opportunity to preview the work in person, to help plan your studio-hopping route for the 2019 Northeast Iowa Artists’ Studio Tour,” say organizers.

About the Tour
Forty-seven artists at 35 locations will open their doors for a free behind-the-scenes studio view not usually offered to the general public, open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Many spaces are open to the general public only during this annual event, among them numerous top caliber, award-winning, nationally traveling fine artists. Decorah is the central community from which the tour radiates no more than 40 miles in any direction, in Iowa.

The Northeast Iowa Artists’ Studio Tour (NIAST Inc.) is the first, largest and longest-running tour of artists’ studios in the state.

Information about all the artists, images of their art, handicap accessibility, plus map, GPS and lodging and dining information are available in the Tour brochure.
Maps, GPS coordinates, brochures and lodging/dining information are available as web downloads. Additional detailed directions will be available as a download shortly before the tour to allow for current road construction information at iowaarttour.com.
