Jeffrey James
Jeffrey James, featured on Season 3 of NBC's "The Voice," will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, in Marty's CyberCafé in the Dahl Centennial Union on the Luther College Campus.

Tickets are $5, available at the Luther Box Office, telephone (563) 387-1357 or, open Monday-Friday, 9-10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; extended hours Thursdays: open until 7 p.m.

In the past two years, James has performed more than 120 shows, opening for Hanson and Rooney. He recently won Vanderbilt University's Rites of Spring band contest to share the stage with Sarah Bareilles, The National and Public Enemy. Music City Unsigned said, "Jeffrey James is making music that honors the past, but sits perfectly in the present. He's got the voice, the groove and was undeniably born to sing."

He released his new five-track album titled, "Make Your Way to the Flasing Lights," Nov. 6. The album is a collection of rock songs with catchy rhythms and intense vocals of old soul music. Some songs feature a pop-like feeling with a simple hook and blues shuffle while others use a dirty dap-tone or ominous strings.

The concert is sponsored by Luther's Student Activities Council: Spotlight committee.
