The second annual Turkey River Music Festival is Friday and Saturday, Aug. 30 and 31, at Riverside Park and the Inwood Ballroom in Spillville.

All proceeds of the event are donated to Riverside Park, the Inwood and to keeping the music festival alive. Seating is open lawn, and the event is rain or shine. A beer and drink tent and food will be available, featuring PIVO Brewery, Reno’s Road Kill and Tacos Lily food trucks. Cover charge for a single day is $10, and a two-day pass is $15. Children 12 and under are admitted free. No glass is allowed at the festival.

Friday night will feature hard rock and metal music. The gate opens at 7 p.m., and shows start at 8 p.m., with Dark Agenda. Rictus Grin takes the stage at 9, followed by Sinkhole at 10 and concluding with Endless Reign at 11 p.m.

Saturday, the gate opens at noon and shows start at 2 p.m. Blues and rock music are featured throughout the day. The Bruce Bearinger Band opens the day’s offering at 2, and Joe and Vicki Price perform at 3:30. Punch Kick Love plays at 5 p.m., followed by EF-5 at 6:30; Avey/Grouws Band at 8 p.m. and Richard Arndt and the Brew at 9:30. Music concludes with Yukon at 11 p.m.

A co-ed kickball tournament starts at 1 p.m. Saturday. Entry fee is $50 per team. Cash prizes will be awarded to first and second place winners. To enter, call Roman Lensing at 641-257-8267.
