Decorah High School is hosting an Iowa High School Speech Association (IHSSA) certification meeting Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.

This meeting certifies or re-certified any adult to judge for IHSSA contests and costs $5. No experience isnecessary to attend this meeting.

Drama Coach Molly Holkesvik remarked, “We arelooking for enthusiastic individuals who want to help students build their communicationskills through speech. This certification meeting provides an excellent opportunity tolearn about the IHSSA, the variety of speech contests a person can judge, and thecategories in which students can participate.”

Holkesvik continued, “After attending the meeting, people can judge at any IHSSA statecontest and make some money while enjoying a day of amazing student performances This year Decorah is hosting the State Large Group Contest, so they could even start judging right here in Decorah.”
