The Decorah High School (DHS) Varsity Team received 22 division one ratings and the DHS 9th Grade Team received four division one ratings at the District Large Group Speech Contest hosted by Postville High School last week.

The performers are coached by Thomas Houdek, Molly Holkesvik, Gabe Twedt, Kristen Underwood, and Carrie Kauffman.

Over 185 Decorah High School students participated in the contest.

All groups receiving division one ratings will participate in the Northeast District Large Group Speech State Contest hosted by Waterloo West High School Saturday, Feb. 2. Contest details will be available online at ihssa.org, complete with a schedule, early next week.
