Renovations complete
Luther College’s Legacy Field is open for business as the Norse football team practiced this week after the installation was completed, providing the Norse with one of the safest and most unique football fields among NCAA Division III institutions. The dedication of Legacy Field is scheduled for noon on Saturday, Sept. 9, followed by a Community Day Picnic. The Norse will open the 2017 home season at 2 p.m. versus St. Olaf College.     Luther Baseball will host “Voice of the Hawkeyes” Gary Dolphin and “Voice of the Gophers” Mike Grimm as keynote speakers at this year’s First Pitch Banquet on Saturday, Jan. 25, in Peace Dining.

  • Luther men’s soccer finish season in Elite 8
    For the second year in a row the Luther College men’s soccer team advanced to the Elite 8 of the NCAA III National Soccer Tournament. Luther has now advanced to the Round of 8 four times (1996, 2001, 2018, 2019).

    Luther was defeated by Simpson at Buxton Stadium Saturday afternoon, 16-10. The Storm compiled 442 yards of total offense and Luther tallied 383.

    The 2019 NCAA Division III Men’s National Soccer Tournament 64-team field was announced Monday. Luther College will host first and second round matches, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 16-17.

    It was Senior Day and the final home game of the 2019 campaign in Carlson Stadium Saturday afternoon. Luther posted its first win of the year, a 35-34 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University.

  • Dubuque stops Norse gridders
    The University of Dubuque defeated Luther by a final of 69-14, in Carlson Stadium Saturday. The Spartans held a 35-14 lead at halftime and then put 34 unanswered points on the board in the second half.

    Luther fell to 0-4 in the American Rivers Conference after dropping a 56-21 decision to Loras College Saturday in the Rock Bowl.

  • Luther homecoming spoiled by Central
    Central College defeated Luther Saturday on a very wet afternoon by the final of 45-14. The Dutch led 17-7 at halftime and outscored the Norse 21-7 in the final two frames.

    Luther College Director of Athletics, Renae Hartl, has announced that Steve Pasche and Yarrow Pasche have accepted the positions as Directord of Track & Field and Cross Country for the men’s and women’s teams respectively.

    It was the American Rivers Conference opener this afternoon in Carlson Stadium. Picked to win a third consecutive league title in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the Wartburg College Knights put on a dominating performance en route to a 62-10 victory.

    Paul Strand and Spencer Weis, 2017 graduates of Decorah High School are members of the Luther College men’s soccer team. Strand plays as a junior defender, while Weis is a junior midfielder.
