The Turkey Valley Gold squad persevered Thursday over the South Winn and Echo Valley teams, in addition to severe storms and torrential downpours that rolled through northeast Iowa. A lightning break near the end of the competition, halted competition temporarily before a quartet of Trojans, Shaylee Brincks, Kaylie Klimesh, Alexus Ball and Bradley Kriener completed 25s in the meet. Having the best outing for TV was Ball with a 49. South Winn’s Ben Hageman and Turkey Valley’s Bradley Kriener notched 48 in a three-way tie for the top male with Ben Scott of Echo Valley. In the ladies’ field, Ball took the medal, followed by 47s earned by Klimesh and Brincks. The top female from South Winn was Hannah Humpal with 42.
