The Decorah Community School District is seeking applicants for the leadership position of

Director of Technology and Information Systems

This individual leads, supervises, maintains, and coordinates the technology infrastructure, hardware, and software needs of the district. The Director of Technology and Information Systems is part of the Superintendent’s Cabinet and district leadership-team.

Preferred Qualification:

Individuals with an appropriate educational or professional background are encouraged to apply.

• College degree in education, technology or related field.

• Experience managing and maintaining a network environment.

• Background and/or training in leadership skills appropriate for the position.

• Possesses and maintains advanced technology industry certification(s).

• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board and Administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Job Goals:

• Serving as an on-site network administrator and delegating network administration as appropriate.

• Serving as an on-site technician and delegating work to district technicians as appropriate.

• Implementing a preventive maintenance program to foresee any problems and/or necessities that may arise.

• Securing the most cost-effective industry prices possible for hardware and software.

• Providing service excellence aligned to the DCSD mission, vision, and values.

Payroll Specialist

Full time position responsible for timely and accurate preparation and production of all campus payrolls and associated reporting. Responsibilities will include payment of salaries and wages, deductions, payroll transmission, payrollrelated external payments, and reporting. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to utilize Colleague database software, Glacier nonresident alien tax software, Microsoft Excel, and Business Objects reporting software. Relevant job experience and accounting skills are necessary with proven ability to keep up-to-date on IRS payroll regulations pertaining to both US residents and nonresidents. A Bachelor’s degree is desirable. Must be able to follow procedures through to satisfactory end while utilizing software tools to research and solve any problems as they occur. Must be able to manage time effectively by prioritizing tasks, organizing information from many sources, and identifying problems early in the payroll process in order to meet tight payroll deadlines. STANLEY Engineered Fastening
$2,000 SIGN-ON BONUS beginning on hire date

POSITION SUMMARY: To develop computer programs and operational processes for efficient and productive CNC operation. As needed, operates single and multispindle CNC machines with multi axis to produce quality parts.


• Review internal and customer blueprints and determine the sequence of events needed to machine parts to meet print. Translate that sequence manually or by use of Cad Cam software to create the NC code for the machine.

• Develop existing or purchased tooling or design new tooling to compliment the CNC numerical control process.

• Modify and sharpen tooling as needed.

• Provide quoting information for new product (cycle times, tooling, raw material, and machine needs)

• Develop and produce prototype parts for new and existing customers.

• Produce tooling and machine parts for other machines in Decorah.


• To be able to set up and operate CNC machines using all types of tooling and make modifications to the tooling with minimal supervision.

• Make minor machine repair and assisting machine repair personnel in diagnosing problems and assist in actual repair of the machines.

• Monitor production rates to maintain pre-determined production standards using innovative process development.

• Assist with corrective actions for DMR’s.

• Assist in directing the other operators in the department to maintain quality and continuous improvement.

• Train new and lesser experienced employees.

• Monitor departmental supplies and contact parts expeditors as necessary for parts.


• Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist technician certification.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

• Numerical control programming knowledge.

• CNC machine operation experience.

• Theoretical math skills.

• Software knowledge of CNC machine equipment similar to or same as equipment at Decorah Operations.

• Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 requirements.

• Positive Human relation skills.


• CAD certification.

• Associates degree in computer programming.

• Certified tool and die training.
