Decorah has been singled out on a “Best of” list again.
This time, the town is being lauded as “the most charming small town” in Iowa.
In an article for msn.com by Lyn Mettler entitled “The Most Charming Small Town in Every State,” Decorah is listed among the “small-town gems lost in time” that constitute “the heart of America.”
The article includes references to Nordic Fest and the bike trail; the area’s “beautiful outdoors” – including its many trout streams and the 200-foot waterfall at Dunning’s Spring. The “bustling” Decorah Farmers’ Market gets a nod, as do the internationally renowned Toppling Goliath Brewing Company and Seed Savers Exchange – “with heirloom gardens, historic orchards and heritage livestock breeds.”
Decorah joins other “most charming” towns across the country like Eureka Springs, Ark., Carmel-by-the Sea, Calif., Telluride, Colo., Galena, Ill. and Naples, Fla.
“Add them to your must-visit list now,” Mettler writes.
