  • Another NCC title for Decorah swimmers
    Saturday marked the fourth time in five years, and the 13th in school history, the Decorah girls swim team has earned the North Central Conference swim title with 443 points. Favored to win by 90 points was Boone, who finished as the runner-up with 393 points.

  • Coach Ohrt collects 100th win
    Not only did the South Winn football team (7-1) advance to round two of the 2020 playoffs, the Warriors also handed Coach Jason Ohrt his 100th career win who has been at the helm of the program since coming to Calmar in 2007. Friday night, the Red and White shut out Nashua-Plainfield in Calmar, 42-0.

  • TV closes out the season with Kee
    Hurting from the loss of several running back and an injury to starting QB, the Turkey Valley football team (2-5) faced an uphill battle Friday at Kee (5-3) in the first round of the 2020 football playoffs. In the end it was the Hawks getting the best of the Trojans, 50-24.

  • Lady Vikes go 3-3 at NEIC tourney
    After finishing second in the conference during the season, the Decorah volleyball team (18-11, 6-2 NEIC) finished 3-3 at last week’s Northeast Iowa Conference tournament held in two days.

    Cool temperatures, rolling hills and lots of fans were on tap for the Upper Iowa Conference cross country meet Thursday in West Union.

  • Trojan spikers finish second in UIC
    It was conference win number seven for the Turkey Valley volleyball team (18-6, 7-1 UIC) Thursday night as the Trojans hosted Central Elkader for a 3-0 victory. Set scores were 25-10, 25-12 and 25-22.

  • SW picks up second UIC win
    The South Winn volleyball team picked up its second Upper Iowa Conference win in the regular season finale Thursday night, 3-0 over Postville (3-14, 1-7 UIC). Set scores were 25-16, 25-21 and 30-28.

  • Fall leaf removal fundraiser

    Members of the Decorah baseball team will be completing fall leaf cleaning on weekends in October and November as a fundraiser. Members of the team will rake and haul leaves in yards when weather and time allows.

    Community members wishing to take advantage of this service are asked for a suggested donation of $40. To schedule a time, call the Decorah High School at 563-382-3643 or email adam.riley@decorah.k12.ia.us.

    Decorah High School is excited host a second round IHSAA playoff football game on Friday, Oct. 23, with Dubuque Wahlert Catholic High School starting at 7 p.m.

  • Vikes finish second in NEIC
    It was a highly-contested match between the Decorah volleyball team (15-8, 5-1 NEIC) and Class 4A No. 6 Waverly-Shell Rock (31-8, 6-0 NEIC) at home Tuesday night. Falling 3-0, Decorah finished the regular season of the Northeast Iowa Conference in second place behind the Go-Hawks for the Vikings’ best finish since 2007. Set scores were 22-25, 23-25 and 14-25.

  • TV spikes Hawks at home
    All three levels of the Turkey Valley volleyball program pitched a shut-out over Kee High at home Tuesday night, with the varsity squad (17-6, 6-1 UIC) taking the conference win in three sets of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-10.

    All things were golden for the Decorah cross country teams Tuesday night as the Vikings swept all four titles at the Northeast Iowa Conference Meet at Cresco.
