Paul Pate, Iowa Secretary of State, has announced that his office will be mailing absentee ballot request forms to each registered voter in Iowa for this November’s General Election.

Voters are required to enter their Drivers License number, or PIN number if they don’t have a Drivers License, on the form.  The Auditor’s Office will not send out a ballot unless the form is complete.

Voters should receive the request form from the Secretary of State in late August. Candidates and political parties will most likely also be sending out forms. Ballots for the November General Election will not be mailed out until early October.

Businesses, Churches, Civic Groups, and other places of gathering can also pick up forms in the Auditor’s Office. If a place of gathering would like to get some of the forms, they should stop at the Auditor’s Office in the Courthouse and they will be provided forms.

Election questions can be directed to the Winneshiek County Auditor’s Office at (563) 382-5085 or auditor@co.winneshiek.ia.us.
