Decorah High School Community Club members are planning a bread sale Friday, March 9, to help the Arneson family who recently lost two family members.
They collected donations during lunch but looked for a way to do more. Member Megan Pope approached Chad Elliott, Culinary Specialist for the Decorah Community School District, who volunteered to bake 100 loaves of bread, including baguettes, quinoa boules, sun-dried tomato ciabatta, pizza crusts (2), roasted garlic batard, and onion-poppy seed rolls (8).
“I will happily provide all ingredients and packaging. I am so thankful to be able to contribute to this family,” said Elliot.
Elliott will bake them the morning of Friday, March 9, and Community Club members will sell them out of the front office of the high school starting at 10 a.m. for $10 each. Checks should be made out to Decorah Community School District. No pre-orders will be taken.
