The Winneshiek Medical Center (WMC) Board of Trustees will hold a public budget hearing Wednesday, March 7, at 4:30 p.m. in conference room B3 at the WMC.
According to WMC Chief Financial Officer Lynn Luloff, WMC has no proposed increase in the property tax rate for fiscal year 2019. The tax asking for WMC will remain at 44 cents per $1,000 of taxable valuation, the same rate as the past six years, which is the lowest rate in the medical center's last 20 years.
“With no increase at this time, Winneshiek Medical Center is demonstrating fiscal stewardship and being a collaborative community partner,” said Luloff. “The medical center continually balances its current resources in an uncertain healthcare environment. They monitor resources with known current and future needs knowing that an increase in the taxation rate may be required in future years.”
