The Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors will have new leadership next year.
Board Chairman John Logsdon and Vice Chair Dean Thompson have both announced they will not be seeking another term this fall. Their terms expire Dec. 31. Supervisor Mark Kuhn, the only other Board member with an expiring term, will seek re-election. Shirley Vermace of Decorah told Decorah Newspapers she will be filing nomination papers for Thompson’s seat on the Board.
Monday, March 2, is the first day nomination papers for county offices can be filed with the Winneshiek County Auditor’s office. The deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 25. For the complete story, read Tuesday's Public Opinion.
