‘Heart-felt’ Christmas at Hotel Winneshiek

The Hotel Winneshiek is host to the annual “Heart-felt Christmas” art sale Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Featured artists are Elea Uhl (“Uhl-tide Creations”) and Patti Brice (“Red Horse Ranch Handbeaded Jewelry”).

For over 20 years, Uhl has been creating original Santas with hand-sculpted faces, “felted” scarves, hammered “Journey of Life” pins, upcycled mittens and more.

Brice’s jewelry is inspired by the colors and textures found in nature. She crafts earrings, necklaces and bracelets by combining copper, leather, gemstones and more.

Holiday Art Fair at the Lingonberry

The Lingonberry event venue in downtown Decorah (218 W. Water St.) is hosting a holiday art fair Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Featured artists are Katie Lawless (hand-painted silk scarves), Karen Misseldine (pottery), Lee Zieke Lee (traditional willow basketry), Jim Bryan (original acrylic paintings, prints and cards), Jon Rotto (Nut Job Earring Company), Jen Griffin (edible artistry) and Lindsay Lee (regional landscapes in pastel).

Oneota Spinners and Weavers Guild at Vesterheim’s Bruening Visitors Center

The Oneota Weavers and Spinners Guild of Decorah will host an Artisan’s Market Friday, Nov. 30, from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Vesterheim Museum’s Bruening Visitors Center.

The Visitors Center is on the main floor, handicapped accessible with easy parking.

Items offered for sale include hand-woven rag rugs, handwoven scarves, handwoven table linens, handwoven pillows, hand knit hats and scarves, special goat milk soap, hand knit and felted Christmas ornaments and felted Nisses. Select weaving, spinning and knitting books also will be offered for sale.

Handspun yarn suitable for weaving and/or knitting also will be available.

These items are all uniquely hand-crafted by local weavers and spinners.
