The Secretary of State will be sending absentee ballot request forms to all Iowa registered voters later this month. Many political parties, candidates, and political activist groups are also sending out absentee ballot request forms.  Forms sent by these groups may be pre-addressed to return to the County Auditor’s office at: 201 W. Main St., Decorah, IA  52101.

But, according to Winneshiek County Auditor Ben Steines, voters should verify the return address before mailing.  Or, any of the forms can be dropped off at the Auditor’s Office or in the drop box in the Courthouse parking lot.

Voters only need to submit ONE ballot request form.  Just because several are received, only returning one is sufficient.

Questions about elections can be directed by email to or by calling the Auditor's Office in Decorah at (563) 382-5085.
