ArtHaus is bursting with activities during the Decorah Holiday Open House this weekend.

Thursday, Dec. 5, from 3:15 to 5:30 p.m., the public is welcome to drop in for a Hot Chocolate Party. This all ages event involves glazing a mug as well as well as sipping on hot chocolate provided by local coffee shops.

Friday, Dec. 6, ArtHaus hosts a Frozen-themed Cookies and Canvas from 3:15 to 5 p.m. Cookies and Canvas is the perfect memory-maker to do with kids and is sure to be a favorite. The step-by-step, simple process with an instructor creates an amazing canvas.

ArtHaus is happy to announce the grand opening of the Makers Market at the new location on 107 West Broadway, starting Dec. 6. The Makers Market will be open Monday through Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m., and feature artwork by Karen Misseldine, Michaleen Melby, Vicki Berland, Lynn Bielby, Rick Scheffert, Hannah Tulgren, Margaretta Maxon, Tonya Balik and more.

The Makers Market will have items of all price ranges.

Adults looking for activities to do Saturday, Dec. 7 should sign up today for a Holiday and Waterfall Card-Making Class with Frances Kittleson of Red Tree Studios.

Registration is available online atarthausdecorah.org. The class will take place in ArtHaus’ new studio and refreshments will be provided.

Alongside the class in the ArtHaus gallery, the first show in the new space will open from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Local artist, Tonya Balik will be there showcasing COLLECTANEA, her latest mixed media paintings with a dynamic color palette building space and dimension by layered materials and collage elements.
