The Northeast Iowa Peace and Justice Center (NEIPJC) invites everyone concerned about gun violence to a meeting Thursday, Feb. 15, at 9 a.m. at the NEIPJC located at 119 Winnebago Street.
The “gun sense” group is establishing a formal relationship with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. They will counter the National legislation called “Reciprocity,” which may cut our Iowa requirement for permits and background checks. We will review their legislation.
The Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America group encourages a system of safeguarding children from accidental shootings. At the meeting, the group will look at statistics and the dangers of stolen guns. The community is invited to join the discussion with ideas and concerns.
