A semi loaded with cattle rolled down 150th Avenue in Frankville Township last week.
According to the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office, Rickey Mormann 63, Earlville, was pulling out of a driveway onto 150th Avenue at about 4:10 p.m. Nov. 19 when the back wheels of his semi became stuck in the ditch.
The semi was pulled out of the ditch and the driver left the semi. A few minutes later, when no one was inside, the semi started to roll down 150th Avenue. The semi entered the east ditch and rolled onto its passenger side. The cattle had to be cut out of the trailer. Five head of cattle died and four were injured. A total of $45,000 in damage was reported.
