Steven Lundtvedt, 46, Spillville, is facing drug and gun charges after being stopped near Readlyn Tuesday night.

Lundvedt was stopped for speeding by a Bremer County Deputy on Highway 3 about three miles east of Readlyn at about 7:15 p.m.

According to the Bremer County Sheriff’s Department, Lundtvedt admitted to having a controlled substance in the car. During a search a quantity of substances believed to be methamphetamine and marijuana were found, in addition to a loaded handgun.

Lundtvedt was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a Class B felony; a drug tax stamp violation, a Class D felony; carrying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor; possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia, simple misdemeanor; and first-offense operating while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor.

Lundtvedt was transported to the Bremer County Jail where he is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant at 102 South Main St., Apt. B, Wednesday in Spillville to assist the Bremer County Sheriff’s Department in its investigation following Lundtvedt’s arrest.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Department was assisted in the search by the Calmar-Ossian Police Department, Iowa State Patrol and the Winneshiek County Attorney’s office.

The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released later.
