Toppling Goliath will close its College Drive location after this Friday, Feb. 9 to officially open its doors at 1600 Prosperity Road, Decorah. The official opening is tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 10, at noon.
Clark and Barb Lewey founded Toppling Goliath Brewing Company in 2009 in Decorah after a successful stint in home brewing. In order to meet overwhelming demand, the Lewey’s recently finished construction on a new 100-barrel facility which houses a taproom, restaurant and brewery. The taproom features two floors of seating, one bar on each floor, booths, large group tables as well as small tables, a full-size gift shop, fireplace, over 20 taps and sunset views. Taproom hours are as follows: Friday through Sunday, 12 to 8 p.m. and Monday through Thursday, 12 to 8 p.m.
"The entire TG team has been working extremely hard for a long time to get the new brewery and taproom built, I'm very excited the opening day is here and we can share our new home with the customers who have helped us get here," said Clark Lewey.

New partnership
Toppling Goliath and Atlantic Beverage Distributors recently announced the partnership for exclusive distribution of the Toppling Goliath portfolio in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Starting Feb. 23, the Toppling Goliath core brands will be available in limited quantities to top off-premise accounts including Dorothy’s New World Lager, Pseudo Sue Pale Ale, Golden Nugget IPA, Pompeii IPA and King Sue Double IPA. Special events will be announced with top on-premise accounts starting Friday, Feb. 23 through Tuesday, Feb. 27. All of these releases will be made available in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Toppling Goliath looks forward to expanding the independent craft outline and supporting independent craft breweries.
Toppling Goliath Brewing Co. was founded in Decorah in 2009 as a homebrew operation; in less than a decade it now holds the title for "Second-best Brewery in the World" and "#1 Beer in the World" by Ratebeer and brews seven of the top 100 beers in the world according to BeerAdvocate. Shining in the categories of hop forward IPAs and bold barrel-aged stouts TG has over 35 beers in its ever-growing catalog and delights in experimenting with new ingredients and styles.
"We couldn't be more excited to be expanding into the Massachusetts and Rhode Island markets, the landscape and people are dear to our hearts and after years of requests from east coast customers we can't wait to get them the beer they love. Making this debut with Atlantic Beverage is a perfect fit for us due to their wonderful knowledge of craft beer and craft customers," said Clark, when asked about the new partnership.
Toppling Goliath now distributes into 12 states.
