City officials are inviting the public to ask questions about the possible formation of a municipal electric utility (MEU) in Decorah.
Questions should be sent to City Manager Chad Bird, citymanager@decorahia.org. They will be compiled for further study and response.
To provide some discussion on the topic, Bird has planned a “town hall” for Saturday, Feb. 10, at 9 a.m. at Decorah City Hall. It will be an opportunity for citizens to speak with city staff about issues related to municipalization efforts.
“Please come with your questions, I may or may not be able to answer them, but I will gather and compile them for the City Council,” Bird said.
The Council has scheduled a work session for Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 5:45 p.m. at City Hall to continue its discussion and deliberation of municipalization issues and to review questions and responses submitted by the public.
Links to MEU feasibility studies and additional information have been posted on the city’s website, www.decorahia.org.
