Ronald G. Jaastad, 68, of Winona, Minn., died Friday, June 27, 2014, at his home. Services to remember Ron are at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, at Central Lutheran Church, Winona, Minn. Interment is at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home. 

Ronald George was born April 23, 1946, with lutefisk in his mouth, to Gerald and Eileen (Stortz) Jaastad. He graduated from Decorah High School and eventually from Luther College. Uff da. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church and was active in the community with various organizations. Thirty years ago he came to a fork in the road and took it, and since then owned and operated Jaastad Property Appraisals, Inc., in Winona. Being an Eagle Scout was a source of great pride for Ron. He thoroughly enjoyed golfing, skiing and socializing with the many great friends he had. People who knew Ron well knew that wherever he went, there he was.

He was formerly married to Bonnie Berkedal and is survived by their three children: Bryn Jaastad, Madison, Wis.; Kirk (Dawn) Jaastad, Seattle, Wash.; and Kristin (Billy) Diercks, Goodhue, Minn.; two grandchildren: Micah Diercks and Linnea Jaastad; a sister-in-law, Diane Jaastad; a niece, Emily Jaastad; and other significant relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Jaastad.
