Dear Editor:

I am an aged curmudgeon, and all I have to offer is what I call wisdom.

By the time a local power company could be established in Decorah, I will be a cadaver being dissected in medical school somewhere, so I have no stake in the project.

What I think about the vote on May 1 is that it is possible a large number of Luther students (urged on by the faculty) would turn out to vote for the project. By the time a local power company could be established, they would be dissecting a cadaver in a medical school somewhere so they have no stake in the project either.

Secondly, I have lived in Decorah since 1962. My electricity has always been faithful, with the exception of a few serious weather events, and then only for a remarkedly short time. So, my wisdom is “if it ain’t broke, don’t change it.”
