Democratic candidate for Congress, Thomas Heckroth, is hosting a meet and greet tonight, Tuesday, March 13, in Calmar. The meet and greet is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at PIVO brewery, 101 Huber Drive.
Heckroth grew up in Waverly, Iowa. After graduating from Waverly-Shell Rock public schools, he went to the University of Iowa and as a “walk-on” played for the Hawkeye baseball team. Heckroth has also worked for former U.S. Senator Tom Harkin and later joined the U.S. Department of Labor. After earning his MBA, Thomas went to work for a clothing manufacturer as the Director of Sustainable Manufacturing and Sourcing. Today, Thomas and his wife, Naomi, live in Cedar Falls.
