The wins keep coming for the Decorah girls’ basketball team (4-0, 0-0 NEIC) as it earned its fourth win Saturday morning in the Border Battle over Fillmore Central, 32-28.

“Overall, this was a good non-conference game,” said Coach Shannon Quandahl. “Maintaining discipline and application of game specifics from practices to competition are areas in which we continue to learn and grow.”

The Lady Vikes held Fillmore Central to just a trio of free throws in the first period, while dropping in 12 points. Each squad put five points through the net in the second as Decorah went to the locker room with a 17-8 lead. Foul trouble led to the Vikes sitting several key players in the third frame, leaving a slow offensive attack. The Falcons closed the gap in the final minute, pulling to within two, 30-28. However, Decorah defense held on to claim the “w”.
