The University of Dubuque defeated Luther by a final of 69-14, in Carlson Stadium Saturday. The Spartans held a 35-14 lead at halftime and then put 34 unanswered points on the board in the second half.

Luther took its first possession of the game 65-yards on nine plays for a touchdown. Tre Jensen capped off the drive with a three-yard plunge with 10:08 left in the first quarter. The Norse also put together a solid drive late in the second frame for their final score of the afternoon. Canon Reece caught a five-yard strike from Michael Lorento, that completed an 11-play, 75-yard drive with 31 seconds left in the half.

The Spartans offensive attack produced 740 yards of total offense, 391 on the ground and 349 in the air. Kordell Stillmunkes, who entered the game as the second leading rusher in the league, finished with 102 yards on 11 carries and two touchdowns. Quarterback Sean Duffy threw for 349 yards and three touchdowns. 

Jensen led the Norse rushing attack with 72 yards on 14 carries. Parker Kizer was next with 49 and Travis Vargas finished with 33. The Norse rushed for 223 yards and threw for 72 and finished with 295 yards of total offense.

The loss gives Luther an A-R-C record of 0-5, 0-7 overall. Dubuque won its fourth in a row and is now 4-2 in league play, 5-3 overall.

Luther travels to Buena Vista University Saturday, Nov. 2, with kick-off is slated for 1 p.m. in Storm Lake.
