It was another Upper Iowa Conference win for the South Winn boys’ basketball team (3-0, 3-0 UIC) as the Warriors defeated North Fayette Valley (1-2, 1-1 UIC) at home Tuesday night, 50-28.

“It was a great defensive battle and hustle by our guys all night. I thought our guys did a great job of executing our game plan and giving great effort against a tough and well coached NFV team,” said Coach Blake Moen. “We didn’t shoot the greatest, but at this early stages of the year, we just have to be patient and keep looking for good shots.”

A 6-2 TigerHawk lead didn’t last long as the Warrior offense found its rhythm to the tune of a 13-10 first quarter lead. There was little letting off the gas in the second frame as South Winn doubled up NFV, 26-13, by halftime. SW continued to find the open man and held off NFV in the second half to take the win.
