Six Decorah seniors were recognzed as being named academic all-state recipients Tuesday.    Six Decorah High School seniors were honored by being named to the academic all-state volleyball, cross country and football teams.

Volleyball
   Anna Hanson was selected for the academic all-state volleyball team. She was one of 121 seniors from across the state to be honored. In order to receive this honor, athletes must be a senior, have at least a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.75 or higher, have at least an ACT composite of 27 and be involved in other extracurricular activities.
   Hanson is the daughter of Davis and Brenda Hanson.

Cross country
   Jenna Galligan, Kaitlyn Rooney and Jarod Phillips were selected for the academic all-state cross country team. Galligan and Rooney are two of 37 female athletes selected while Phillips is one of 43 male athletes. In order to receive this honor, athletes must be a senior, have at least a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.8 or higher, have at least an ACT composite of 28 and be an outstanding runner who has been a state qualifier or placed in the top 30 at their District Meet.
  Galligan is the daughter of David and Lori Galligan. Rooney is the daughter of Dave and Annette Rooney. Phillips is the son of Bradley and Lori Phillips.

Football
   Blake Courtney and Jake Muhlbauer were selected for the academic all-state football. The duo were two of 101 athletes from Class 3A selected for the honor.
   In order to be selected for this honor, athletes must be a senior, have at least a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.7 or higher and be involved in other extracurricular activities.
   Courtney is the son of Scott and Amy Courtney. Muhlbauer is the son of Todd and Dawn Muhlbauer.
