Decorah’s giant sea scorpion discovery featured on National Geographic program Jan. 31
Tuesday, January 12, 2016 3:53 PM
A National Geographic program on the discovery of a giant fossilized sea scorpion discovered on the Hildebrand property near Decorah is scheduled to air Sunday, Jan. 31, at 8 p.m.
It’s part of the series, “The Strange Truth,” which “explores, illuminates and documents the hard to believe, the mind boggling and occasionally insane secret history of everything. From bizarre science to unnatural nature, very real conspiracies and too-far-out explorations, nothing is left but the strange truths of it all.”
The Decorah segment, “Scorp-zilla” is part of episode 4, “The Day the Sky Fell.”
Last fall, a production crew for National Geographic filmed the unveiling of a replica of the 467 million year-old fossilized giant sea scorpion on the Hildbrand property for the program.
