Third grade students graduating from Decorah High School in the year 2023 are eligible for this year's Nordic Dancer tryouts.

A new group of dancers is formed every five years and dances together through the 12th grade. Parents are actively involved with fundraising, support and transportation.

Members of the Nordic Dancers must make a 10-year commitment to be in attendance at all Nordic Fest performances. Practices are also mandatory unless excused by the director. Practices will begin in January, once a week, and continue through Nordic Fest, on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

"The Nordic Dancers have become visible representatives of Decorah since their inception in 1966. They have performed for numerous audiences locally and various locations around the United States and abroad. The Dancers draw crowds of thousands each Nordic Fest," said Director Ann Kephart.
