Two members of the Luther College men’s basketball team were recognized by being named to the All-Iowa Conference men’s basketball team.
Senior John Androus, from Lindenhurst, Ill., was named to the first team while junior Jake Martin was named second team.
This is the third conference honor in Androus’ career. He was named second team all-conference in 2001-12 and was the defensive player of the year last year. Androus led the team in scoring with a 17.4 points per game average and put up 18.7 a night in conference action. He averaged 7.9 rebounds a game (8.6 in league play), along with 81 total assists and 24 steals.
This is Martin’s first all-conference nod. The Aurora, Ill., native posted a 13.0 points per game average, with 14.3 a game in conference action. He averaged 9.1 rebounds a night (8.0 in IIAC play), along with 28 assists.
Matt Greenfield of Central was named the Most Valuable Player. The Defensive Player of the Year was Nick Wuebker of Buena Vista. Coach of the Year honors went to Craig Douma of Central.
