Luther College had six netters named to the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) 2017 all-conference tennis team as selected by the head coaches.
Senior Kyle Appel and juniors Anders Jensen and Trent Schneider were named all-conference in both singles and doubles. Senior Sam Buffington also was named all-conference in singles for the first time of his career.
Appel joins a short list of former Luther players to earn all-conference in singles four times since all-conference was decided by a vote of the Iowa Conference coaches. Appel joins Scott Sundstrom (2009-12) and Ramesh Karki (2011-14) on this list.
Schneider is making his third appearance in both singles and doubles, while Jensen is making his second appearance on the singles list and third appearance in doubles.
Senior Kenny Goins and sophomores Nate Parsons and Jake Smith were three of 10 players named honorable mention all-conference.
