With the tournament season just around the corner, the Decorah wrestling team made the most of its meets this past weekend, winning a conference dual and taking the Bean Dual Tournament title.

Final home meet

Thursday the Vikes hosted the final home meet of the year, defeating Waukon 59-23.

Ten Vikings were victorious, with four winning by forfeit.

At 106 pounds, Carter Hubka grabbed a fall over Miles Ramsey. It was a big win for Noah Byrnes at 120 pounds, grabbing a 17-2 technical fall over David Miller. Ranked No. 8 in Class 2A, Kellan O'Shea continued his winning season, throwing Arthur Khan in 3:58.

Senior Hans Holkesvik (152) threw Marshall Lyons in 1:09. Next on the mat, Nathan Suhr continued the trend by pinning Mike Mitchell in 37 seconds. McKinleigh McCabe (195) threw Dawston Regan in 1:12.

Winning by forfeits were Peter Kephart (170), Tyler Hovey (182), Class 2A No. 4 Andy Hovden (220) and Austin Ashbacher (285).
