Following a long holiday break, the Decorah boys’ swim team competed at Vinton-Shellsburg Tuesday night to win the dual, 69-24, in the 20-yard pool.

All three relays won gold. Drew Chamberlain, Jackson Penny, Gus Grimstad and Cole Huebner won the 160-yard medley relay in 1:23.37. Posting the winning time of 1:17.37 in the 160 free relay were Isaac Dixon, Ryan Lubahn, Andrew Heine and Cole Huebner. The night was completed with a top finish in the 320-yard free relay. The quartet of Cole Huebner, Bradyn Hook, Penny and Grimstad rode the waves to victory in 3:01.31.

Individually, Chamberlain and Grimstad were two-time champions. Chamberlain won the 200 freestyle in 2:00.39 and came back to win the 500 free in 5:16.95. Grimstad was the champion in the 100 fly in 56.03 seconds and also took the 100 backstroke in 56.77 seconds.

Penny took home the 160 individual medley title in 1:45.14.

Saturday, Jan. 11, the Vikings will be back in the water as they compete in the Waterloo Relay Invite at 12 p.m. (noon).
