The Decorah girls’ swim and dive team finished in the middle of the 10-team field at the Marcussen Invite in Cedar Falls Saturday. The Vikes tallied 176 points to finish fifth among the larger schools, coming home with 10 top-10 finishes.

“I am very happy with how the girls performed. They have been training hard and came out with some personal best times of the season,” said Coach Allie Bachelder. “We continue to improve our power rankings, which makes us excited about what this team will do at the end of the season. There are no class sizes and the girls are swimming well against some large powerhouse teams in the state.”

The day started off with two divers finishing in the top 10 — Brinley Krivachek and Maddie Putnam. Krivachek led the Vikes with 338.35 points to claim eighth place, while Putnam, a senior, was 10th with 321.20 points.
