In a rescheduled contest from Friday, the Decorah softball team (2-1, 2-1 NEIC) clobbered out 11 hits to defeat Waukon (0-3, 0-3 NEIC) on the road Tuesday night.

The Lady Vikings plated single runs in the first, second and third frames to hold a 3-1 run heading into the fourth inning. That was when the Decorah offense went to work, scoring five runs.

The Waukon Indians responded with a tally in the bottom of the frame and continued to cut into the Vikings’ advantage with two more in the fifth. Indian runs in the sixth and seventh weren’t enough to gain control as Decorah picked up the conference victory, 9-6.
