Week five brought some close contests in the pigskin picks football contest. This week, there were only 17 games figuring into the results, instead of the usual 19, because two games —Oklahoma State at Baylor, and Florida versus LSU were both postponed due to COVID-19 illnesses.

Decorah’s Jerry Fox was the champion, missing one game and was eight away from the tie-breaker scored by MFL MarMac.

Second place went to Marlene Sorenson of Decorah, also missing one game and nine from the tie-breaker. Third went to Jan Pfiffner of Harpers Ferry, missing two games and only four from the tie-breaker.

Most commonly missed games were Tampa Bay over Green Bay, Waverly-Shell Rock falling to Epworth (Western Dubuque) and Clayton Ridge defeating North Linn.
