What goes around, comes around.

At Friday’s sectional golf meet the Turkey Valley boys’ golf team missed qualifying for district team play by a scant one stroke. Ironically, the exact same thing happened last year with the Trojans earning the district berth by the exact same one-stroke margin.

Finishing in a tie for fourth place individually, freshman Garrett Kurtenbach (46-47=93) will represent Turkey Valley at the next golf competition. The Trojans had a chance to advance as a team as well, just missing the cut.

TV finished in a tie for third place at the sectional golf meet Friday at Silver Springs Golf Course in Ossian with host team South Winn winning the meet with 359 and N-K finishing second with 391. Because South Winn as the host school finished in first or second place, the third place team also advances to district play.

The Trojans and Postville tied for third with 433. Postville had the advantage as their fifth golf score was lower (123-133), so the Pirates also advance as a team to districts.
