Three local softball players were named all-district by the Iowa Girls Athletic Coaches Association.

South Winn’s Ashley Kriener, along with Turkey Valley’s Shayla Kuennen and Jaedyn Winter were recognized in the Northeast Iowa district. All are first-time honorees.

Kriener was named second-team all-Upper Iowa Conference. The senior centerfielder led the Warriors offensively with a .473 average, with an on-base percentage of .529 and .613 slugging mark. In 93 at-bats, she pounded 44 hits, with 37 runs scored, six doubles, two triples, a home run and 25 RBI. She also stole 14-out-of-15 bases.

Trojan catcher Shayla Kuennen was a first-team All-UIC honoree this season. At the plate, she had Turkey Valley’s second-best average at.429 and had a .500 on-base percentage with .648 slugging mark. With 91 at-bats, she had 39 hits, including two home runs and 14 doubles, driving in 30 runs.

An honorable mention all-UIC selection, Winter led the Trojans with a .476 average, .567 on-base percentage with a .563 slugging mark. She had a team-high 50 hits, scoring 40 runs with nine doubles and 27 RBI. She also had 12 stolen bases.
