South Winn graduate Darrik Poshusta and Turkey Valley alum Luke Kuennen will take part in the annual Shrine Bowl.
The game will take place Saturday, July 26, at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.
Poshusta is a three-time All-District selection and two-time All-State in football at South Winn. He was also a four-year letter winner and a two-year varsity captain.
“This is a great and well deserved honor for Darrik. He has put in a lot of time to our program and to the sport of football in general,” said Coach Jason Ohrt. “I know he is very excited about this opportunity and continuing his career at the next level.”
Poshusta, the son of Chad and Sherri Poshusta of Calmar, will attend and play football at Simpson College this fall.
Kuennen was a key piece of the offense and defense for the Trojans last season, earning first team all-state. He led the team in rushing with 1,100 yards on 168 carries, a 6.5 yards per carry average. He scored 19 touchdowns. He also caught five passes for 67 yards. The three-year defensive starter had 80 total tackles – 45 solo and 35 assisted. He also had two tackles for a loss and three fumble recoveries.
Kuennen, the son of Mike and Connie Kuennen of Fort Atkinson, will play football at UNI in the fall.

In addition, Decorah graduate Bryce Pierce will be honored during the Shrine Bowl. Pierce will receive one of the Football Coaches Association football scholarships during halftime of the game.
Pierce is the son of Scott and Lori Pierce of Decorah. He will attend Luther this fall to play football and golf.
